Necessity
Of Separation
All the priests shall separate themselves from the other children of God, in terms of what they eat. That is to enable the priests to keep and maintain the holiness of all holy things in perfection. They shall not be associating with other people of God anytime and anyhow. They have rites of holiness to observe. They have to stay separate among themselves, separate from the people of God.
The people of God can do many things as they want, which things the priests must not do, because the priests stand in the presence of God always. This directive is necessary, to ensure the fitness of the priests to do their works, in the way and time God wants.
Even in this world of humanity, the police, army and security stay separate from the general public, in their barracks and offices, to ensure preparedness, readiness, availability and fitness for duty.
By so doing, the police, army and security ensure the right mental set of their officers and commanders, by preventing and minimizing distractions to duties, disturbances, discomforts, distresses, cares and worries of everyday life.
By so doing, the officers develop and maintain the right mental set for their works, without divided attention, which is very necessary for efficient performance.
By so doing, they prevent the disorganizations of the mind, heart, body and spirit, which come from everyday hassling and bustling, helter-skelter and boisterous lifestyles. These things disorganize the mind, heart, body and spirit, and make a person not to focus on his duty, and make people not to be readily available. They also over burden the mind, heart, body and spirit, and make a person to become easily weak and tired.
The separation of the priests from the general public, ensures effective coordination and easy communication among themselves. But the bible authors wrote the Leviticus chapter in such a way that people read it without understanding.
The Levites have to separate themselves because they have to observe many rites of holiness, far more than the other people of God do observe. This is because they stand in the presence of God always. They serve in the house of God, minister at the altar and offer sacrifice in the Tabernacle, from time to time, from day to day, from week to week, from month to month and from year to year.
Their foods and drinks have to be holy, for themselves to be holy. Everybody who eats what is unholy is no longer holy. God wants the Levites to be holy and to be eating what is holy. By so doing, the Levites shall be able to stay with God always, maintain their spiritual levels, spiritual vibrations and necessary holiness.
The separation is very important, especially during the festivals of Yahweh.
